“We were discussing homosexuality because of an allusion to it in the book we were reading, and several boys made comments such as, “That’s disgusting.” We got into the debate and eventually a boy admitted that he was terrified/disgusted when he was once sharing a taxi and the other male passenger made a pass at him. The lightbulb went off. “Oh,” I said. “I get it. I feel so apathetic lately, with no drive. I don’t just not care about school, I don’t care about anything. At all. I don’t want to go out. ever. (not to mention I have no one to hang out with anyway) I just feel used all the time and I really hate it. I truly have nothing to look forward to, nothing seems exciting I don’t even care about Graduation. I just want to be in my room and read. I really just can’t deal with much.
